"Laughter and joke-telling is healthy and can be used to convey messages that may otherwise be too difficult to express!" - Jesse Eisenberg, A Marriage Counselor Tries To Heckle At A Knicks Game
Yes, I really enjoyed it. It was certainly inconsistent - it read more like a blog than a book, but that suited the diaryesque nature of it. The comical was jammed right up against the tragic.
Did you mean Thoreau or Theroux? Or maybe the offspring of their crazed mating? Just thinking about that makes me want some Mogadon.
A raging Bruxist, I grew up on an ostrich farm until I was mistaken for a woman one time too many. Leaving my angsty post-teen life as one of three only children, I flew to Stockholm where I unexpectedly won the Man Booker Prize for lengthy blogging about being short. Two followers - does that mean you've reached 6th level (or is that retainers)?

Did you really think Don Watson's American Journey was marvellous?
I thought it was like Thereau on mogodon. It was like bad stand-up comedy - he was really trying very hard, but no laughs.
And the tragedy is that he can write so well - Recollections of a Bleeding Heart is a great book!
