Not Tony Abbott
Yesterday, in an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, the software billionare and philanthropist Bill Gates was asked some questions about his family. When asked if he thought that Jennifer and Phoebe should remain virgins until their wedding night, Gates replied, "Um, ahh, look - I'm no Tony Abbott. You can't expect to be able to quiz me on this kind of stuff and for me to know the answers right off the top of my head."

How funny is it that at the same time that Tony Abbott is getting lambasted over his gamy broadband plans, with headlines like "He's no Bill Gates..." that Bill Gates is also claiming not to be Tony Abbott?
Can any gentle readers think of any other previous example of mutual celebrity disavowal?

I thought you meant a face-off between Johnny Rotten and Freddie Mercury. Now that would have been a tiff to behold!
In her Silver Jubilee Year, did HRH ever comment on the Sex Pistol's single? I'm not sure the disavowal was mutual in that example?
